What's the fuss with Valentine's Day?

Everybody’s (single people) bitching about it just like last year.

Come on, you don’t need to feel bad just because there’s this time of the year where couples can celebrate (pretend) their love for each other.

That sounded bitter ;)

Okay let me do it again. Valentine’s day is a day of love. I’d be a hypocrite if I’d say celebrate it with your other loved ones like your mom and dad. No, that is why we have mother’s and father’s day for.
Valentine’s really do target the lovers market. So you feel sad because you have no one to celebrate it with. Big deal. When you wake up the next day, you still have no one. So why beat yourself up for that one day?

If you are sad, think of it this way. You don’t have to celebrate it. Nobody is forcing you. Do you celebrate your birthday even if it isn’t your birthday?
You are single, forever alone. Then okay, there will come a time that a person will come and then that’s the time you participate in the celebration. Is that an okay enough explanation?

I’m not a hater or a pessimist or a person who complains about everything under the sun.

I just want to tell you all kids, that don’t rush into something just because everybody’s doing it. Just because you look sad or you feel being left out. Don’t feel bad about yourself just because you are single. Whoever said happiness can be found only when you have a partner? Well, if you are like that. You have a problem. Seek medical attention now. Call the nearest psychologist near you.

Because really, trust me on this one. It’s true that grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
You envy those couples and the truth is they also envy your freedom. Trust me.
People are naturally like that.
Remember those days when you just feel so down or angry or jealous? That time you can’t go out with your friends? Those times when you have to explain that you just hang out with your cousin? They are part of the deal that you might have been forgetting. Relationships are messy just as Summer had said.
So don’t feel down just because Single Awareness Day is coming. Instead enjoy the feeling of solitude, having a space for yourself and keeping your privacy as much as you can.
